    "Carved stone post by the B6318, in parish of CORBRIDGE (TYNEDALE District), 440m East of Port Gate roundabout, on verge against wall, on South side of road. Military road number tombstone, erected by the Newcastle upon Tyne to Carlisle turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- 16 (To Newcastle) Grade II listed.
