    House, c.1800 with early C19 rear wing; addition of 2nd floor probably contemporary with west wing dated 1872. Squared stone with tooled-and-margined dressings;Lakeland slate roof. 3 storeys, 3 bays, symmetrical. Raised quoins, plinth, 1st and 2nd floor bands, moulded eaves cornice. 3 curved steps up to central 6-panel door with Geometrical fanlight. ...Originally a Coaching Inn on the Great North Road....
