Tyne Bridge, Newcastle

  • Description

View from Above, Vermont Hotel. The bridge is partially closed as part of a four-year project, which began in April 2024, to make significant repairs and do a full repaint. The restoration includes extensive steelwork, concrete, stonework, and masonry repairs, as well as drainage improvements, bridge deck waterproofing, resurfacing, parapet protection, and bridge joint replacement. The project aims to be completed in time for the bridge's centenary celebrations in October 2028 (place your bets here!).
