Former "White Swan Inn", Wigton - May 2017

  • Description

"Probably mid-19th Century, the "White Swan's" claim to fame is that it was the last pub acquired by the State Management Scheme - in March 1921, over two years after the end of World War I. Sold back to the private sector in 1973 for £6,000, it closed some years ago. Recently a "Youth Station" for children and young people, its present use and future are uncertain."
