-
Description
Beyond the curve of the channel’s edge, marked in parts by striped posts, and the junction with Mill Lane, the village of North Scale occupies the centre of the photo with Black Combe and the south Cumberland fells behind. To the right, the main Lakeland fells are lost in poorer visibility. Across the channel on the right, the edge of the slag bank protrudes into the channel......Image from the Sankey Family Photograph Collection (c/o Cumbria Archives), available under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) licence.
