    In ISSSU, RGS Newcastle blog. ".....He was educated at Akhurst and then the RGS. At the RGS he excelled in swimming and running and was on the school cross-country running team for the 1936-37 season. He won the Open Mile race in 1937. At King’s College, Durham (based in Newcastle upon Tyne), Peter sat two parallel degrees, one in Architecture and one in the relatively young qualification of Town and Country Planning. He achieved distinctions in both degrees...."
