Luxury liner launched. 20,000 ton Cunarder "Carinthia" launched from Vicker's famous yard. Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire, (now Cumbria). M/S of a man and woman, she is holding a bouquet of flowers and getting ready to launch the ship. M/S as the ship slides down the ramp into the sea, M/S of the ship with people running about on deck, the camera pans down the length of it. M/S of the ship in the water, M/S as people walk about on the ramp after the launch. There is a brief shot of people shaking hands.
