    "Village Cross on site of market cross. 1897. By Paley and Austin. Ashlar. 3 square steps, the lowest dressed stone. Rectangular base with battered sides and metal plaque to west side which records the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria and 1348 and 1567 market charters. Plain flat cross shaft has Celtic round head...."
