Irton Road

  • Description

"Each winter, the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway has two limited 'windows', in November, and January to mid-February, to carry out track repairs and renewals. Currently, following work on the nearby water course (the track sometimes floods during periods of heavy rainfall), the track is being renewed through Irton Road station. This is part of the works train, with the locomotive partly visible to the extreme left of picture." Photo by Peter Trimming, 2020.
