Description
Chronicle Live, 14 October 2015. "The former blue light properties up for grabs are in Newcastle, Tynemouth and Northumberland....Northumbria Police is selling the properties after carrying out a review of its buildings. It says many of its older sites have been expensive to run and selling them is helping to lower costs....Among the properties for sale is the old Tynemouth Police Box, which has been a well-known landmark at the end of Percy Park Road for many years....In Newcastle, both Market Street and Pilgrim Street stations are up for sale....And an old police office on Bentinck Road, in Elswick, which has not been used for several years, is also being released. Elsewhere, former stations in four Northumberland villages are up for grabs. Officers at the station in James Street, Seahouses, were moved to Seahouses Community Fire Station in June, while the site on Church Street, in Wooler, was emptied in July and staff shifted to the village’s Cheviot Centre, Glendale Gateway Trust, Padgepool Place...." see picture gallery on Chronicle Live -
