Deserted Medieval Village, East House, Coxhoe
-
Description
"This is the site of the deserted medieval village of Coxhoe East House. Many earthworks can still be seen. They mark out the building platforms on which the houses were built. They are close to Coxhoe Hall. In 1418, the manor house and mill at Coxhoe were recorded as being in ruins. This may mean that the village had been deserted as early as the fourteenth century...." -
