  • Description

"One of two branded outlets of the fast food chain McDonald's in Newcastle city centre. Notices in the window inform passers by and potential customers that the restaurant is closed. This was due to actions taken by the government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic which struck the country in the early part of 2020. One of these actions was to require all non-essential retailers to close and the banning of the selling of food to be eaten on the premises. McDonald's took the decision to close all of their restaurants during the strictest period of restriction." Photo by Graham Robson, 2020.
