    "....Tapered Pillar surmounting a plinth which is on a 3 stage base all of granite. The pillar has the relief of a sword on the front face and a wreath carved in relief on each face (this at the top of the plinth), and an incised cross on the fluted section at top. There is a slate plaque on the base on the 6 o'clock face regarding the relocation of the memorial...."
