Table Rocks, Whitley Bsy
-
Description
Table Rocks are in Whitley Bay immediately north of Brown's Bay, near Cullercoats. Table rocks became a popular tourist attraction at the turn of the 19th/20th century. The rocks had a natural tidal pool which was extended to 70 feet by blasting in c.1909 to make an outdoor swimming pool. The pool features on a 1929 LNER poster promoting tourism in the Whitley Bay area. https://co-curate.ncl.ac.uk/table-rocks-whitley-bay" rel="noreferrer nofollow">co-curate.ncl.ac.uk/table-rocks-whitley-bay -
