Cambokeels mine level

  • Description

"This is the original horse level into the 1847 lead mine. A commemorative stone above the level is inscribed 'TWB 1847'. TWB was Thomas Wentworth Beaumont. The Beaumont family controlled many mines in this area in the 19th century and the WB Lead Company is well-known to mining historians." Photo by John Gibson, 1994.
