Main Street, Shap (A6)

  • Description

This bog standard sign gives no clue as to the excitement that lies ahead - those 17 miles to Kendal take you over 1400ft and Shap Fell - a difficult and dangerous stretch of road that ranks as one of the great drives of the UK. The faint hearted should take the left turn just to the south of Shap village to join the motorway.
