Description
"Village cross. Probably C17 on C19 plinth. Red sandstone. Octagonal plinth of 5 steps, the 2 top ones original, surmounted by square base and tapered chamfered shaft with floriated cross head. The burial register records "1623, Nov 8, Buried Jo Nicholson the yonge childe of a poore beggar of the pishe of Broughton, which childe died at the Towne Crosse in Graistoke" which shows that the cross is older than this date...." -
