Combined with Kirkandrews Middle and Kirkandrews Nether to form Kirkandrews CP 1934....Liddel Strength was caput of barony of Liddel (later termed manor of Esk) granted to Turgis Brundos c.1100; granted to Nicholas de Stuteville (d. c.1206) and passed by marriage of Joan de Stuteville (d. 1276) ...."
