Chesters Walled Garden - greenhouse and main herb bed
-
Description
"At the end of May (2009) this wonderful small (two acre) garden came second in the Gardeners' World poll for "Garden of the North" - second only to the Royal Horticultural Society garden at Harlow Carr, Harrogate, which has 220,000 visitors a year. Then in early July came the news that it would close in May 2010. The reclusive owner of the garden, computer software magnate turned racehorse owner Graham Wylie, will be incorporating the garden into the private grounds of the ornate Chesters mansion. See http://www.hexham-courant.co.uk/home/search_results_page_2_3307?Field_text=chesters+garden&x=12&y=6 for further information. There is another article in "The Northumbrian" Issue No.111 for August/September 2009 - see http://www.thenorthumbrian.co.uk/. Another click out will show (on the right) almost all of Chesters Roman Fort in [[NY9170]] and (on the left) [[1219957]]." Photo by Mike Quinn, 2009. -
