"Country house with attached stable court. 1801 by John Patterson. Ashlar with graduated Lakeland slate roof. Unified plan. Octagonal stable court with west gate tower; linking range to rectangular main block with canted bays on three sides and canted rear angles. Entrance front has 2-storey, 3-bay linking range in centre. Open porch of paired Roman Doric columns...."
