    "The datestone above the door has the initial 'G' and the year 1877. Of more urgent concern is the 'No wind farm in Kirkby Lonsdale' placard. Eon plan to build nine 110m-tall turbines on land just east of the village which would completely destroy the character of the middle Lune Valley.
