CHURCH OF ST EDMUND - Newbiggin - List Entry

    "Parish Church, rebuilt in C14 and extensively restored in 1854. Coursed, squared rubble with medieval pilaster buttresses to western corners. Graduated slate roofs with stone copings; bellcote to west end and apex cross to east end. Pointed west door is C19. Mullioned 2-light side windows have ogeed trefoil heads; pointed 3-light east window and 2 easternmost windows are mainly original, others are C19. North chapel was added in early C16...... C12 pillar piscina in north chapel has decorative corner shafts. Carved C14 or C15 top rail to chapel screen...."
