Description
"The hospital was founded sometime between 1193 and 1216 for the poor, aged and sick. To begin with it was an independent establishment, but in 1376 it became annexed to Alnwick Abbey. The hospital probably fell out of use before the Reformation in the 16th century. The location of the hospital was unknown until the mid-19th century, when the foundations were discovered during ploughing....." -
