Aldingham Hall, Aldingham

  • Description

"Spiky Victorian Gothic, by Matthew Digby Wyatt, 1846-50, for the Reverend John Stonard (who left it to his butler, Edward Jones Schollick, who had reportedly saved Stonard's life on the sands of Morecambe Bay). The materials are limestone, and sandstone for the dressings. Grade II listed. It is now a nursing home." Photo by Stephen Richards, 2005.
