Statue of the Earl of Mayo in Cockermouth

    The statue is a prominent landmark on Main Street in Cockermouth. It is a white stone statue of the sixth Earl of Mayo, who died 1872 and had been MP for Cockermouth 1857-67. The statue was erected in 1875, designed by W & T Wills of London.
