Wordsmouth House Museum Cockermouth

  • Description

"This is a Georgian townhouse built in the mid 18th century. It stands in the Main Street Cockermouth. It is now a museum in the care of the National Trust and is open to the public from March to October each year. It also has a well tended garden at the back. William Wordsworth, the English poet, was born here in 1770. It was the childhood home of William and his sister Dorothy." Photo by Jennifer Petrie, 2019.
