It is interesting to note that he had afew books—one great Bible, a book of martyrs, and a chronicle book,valued at 3/. 6s. 8d., and a little Bible at 5s. His clothing consistedof a black broadcloth gown with three yards of velvet, 8/. ; anotherof broadcloth trimmed with lace, 4/. ; a gown of perpetuance withlace, 4/.; a satin doublet and a pair of black kersey breeches withlace, 3/.; a pair of stockings, \l. ; a fustian doublet, a foresador jerkin,and a pair of breeches, 2/. He appears also to have preserved hiswifes best clothing (perchance she was dead, and he kept them forremembrance), for in the inventory appear a womans gown of blackbroadcloth, with two yards of velvet, 8/.; a womans grogram gown,carded with velvet, 2/.; a satin kirtle, with two cards of velvet,\l. 13s. 4d.; a double kirtle of cloth, carded with velvet, los.; petti-coats of stamell, carded with three yards of velvet, i/. i6s. 8d., and ahood of broadcloth, i/. i6s. 8d. Bilson, bishop of Winchester, sends to lord Salisbury the examina-tion of Francis Collingwood, late of Newcastle, as to his traitorousspeeches, which he professes to have uttered in a frenzy.
