Harehope medieval village
-
Description
"Records of a medieval settlement at Harehope date back to at least the 12th century. Later that century a leper hospital was established here. It is not known when the village was abandoned, but in the 18th and 19th centuries there was a small hamlet here comprising a farm and a few cottages. One of these cottages survives as an earthwork...." -
