    The Williams II is a 36m gaffed riffed ketch, which was built of oak with pine decking and masts in 1914 in Denmark. It is owned by Blyth Tall Ship to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the voyage of Captain William Smith who discovered Antarctica sailing from Blyth. The project works with local people and trainees and unemployed crew looking to develop new skills.
