    "Monument. 1808. Cast iron painted black with some gilding. Square base, bolted to stone steps, has inscription: "LABORE ET HONORE" in raised gilded letters....The monument was erected on Wilkinson's grave in the garden of his house Castlehead. Removed when body re-interred in Lindale churchyard and re-erected in present position in 1863. Restored in 1984...."
