    "Large house, now subdivided. Large panel over front door has late C17 coat-of-arms of Nevinson family; later alterations. Some blocks; wall of coursed, squared rubble with dressed copings. 45° graduated slate roofs with stone copings. Hall, and cross wings, with canted stair wing to rear. 2 storeys, 8 bays....R.C.H.M. (1936) records C17 panelling to ground and 1st floor rooms with moulded surround of c.1700 to attic fireplace....."
