    "Opened in 1854 by the Middlesbrough & Guisborough Railway, later part of the North Eastern Railway, this station closed to passengers in 1876 when it was replaced by a new station some 150 metres behind the camera position. View east towards Hutton Gate and Guisborough. The spelling of the station name was slightly different to the nearby settlement." Photo by Nigel Thompson, 2009.
