Northumberland school to close while another's future hangs in the balance

    "....St Mary’s Church of England Middle School in Belford will now shut its doors on August 31 after Northumberland County Council approved plans to shut down the faith school. The school has capacity to teach 120 students but as of last month only had 39 pupils enrolled. This included two students in Year 7 and three in Year 8. Only six applications had been received by the school for pupils looking to join the school’s Year 5 class...."
