Lower Rydal Beck Falls and The Grot
-
Description
"The Grot is a grade II listed building built in 1668 to provide a window to frame the view of the waterfall. It became famous as part of the Picturesque movement (1780s to 1830s) as an example of a wild and rugged scene to inspire dramatic landscape painting. http://www.rydalhall.org/2016/03/18/new-tv-series-will-start-visit-rydal-hall/" Photo by Les Hull, 2016. -
