    "Mainsforth Sports Complex is situated on the eastern edge of Ferryhill on the site of the former Mainsforth Colliery. Ferryhill Town Council secured ownership of the site in 2001 but has been responsible for its maintenance since as far back as 1974. Ferryhill Town Council and Mainsforth Cricket Club are thrilled to announce that the new Sports Pavilion at Mainsforth Sports Complex in Ferryhill is now officially open. The Pavilion which is owned by Ferryhill Town Council but leased long term to Mainsforth Cricket Club...."
