Old Milestone, Thursby


There is a milestone on the pavement to the north end of the Village Green in Thursby, which was erected by the Cockermouth & Carlisle Turnpike Trust, in the late 18th or early 19th century. The turnpike road, had later been part of the A595, until the route was changed to bypass Thursby. The milestone is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. Milestone Society id: CU_CLCM06
