Old Milepost south of Broomhouse Roundabout
Milepost by the B6341 (the old A1 Great North Road) at Broomhouse, about 1 mile north of Alnwick. The milepost was erected in the mid-19th century by the Cow-Causey & Buckton-Burn turnpike trust in the 19th Century. The triangular cast iron post, against a stone wall, has the legends "A 1" and "B 13", indicating the distance in miles to Alnwick and Belford, respectively. The milepost is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
