Old Market Cross, Kirkby Lonsdale


The medieval market cross is located on the cobbled square of the Swine Market in Kirkby Lonsdale. The cross originally stood at junction of Main Street, Market Street and Mill Brow, and was moved here in 1822. The base, octagonal steps, and crowning ball was added in the 19th century. The old Market Cross is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
