Newbrough War Memorial
Newbrough War Memorial is located immediately east of the Town Hall on Stanergate, in Newbrough. The memorial, paid for by public subscription, was designed by Messrs Beattie & Co of Carlisle and the site was donated by the Benson family. It commemorates 30 local servicemen who lost their lives in the First World War. The memorial was unveiled by Lt Gen Sir Percy Wilkinson on the 30th January 1920. Later, the memorial was updated to also commemorate 10 local men who died in the Second World War. The monument is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
