Irvin's Building

The Irvin Building is located on Union Road on the North Shields Fish Quay. It was built in 1913 for Richard Irvin and Sons Ltd., who owned a fleet of over 30 fishing boats, and were fish salesmen and auctioneers. Irvin was a pioneer of steam trawling, and was thought to be the largest operator in the industry outside Peterhead in Scotland.[1] The Irving Building is Grade II Listed on the National Heritage List for England.
