High and Low Brunton - Township, 1848


BRUNTON, HIGH and LOW, a township, in the parish of Embleton, union of Alnwick, S. division of Bambrough ward, N. division of Northumberland, 8¾ miles (N. by E.) from Alnwick; containing 59 inhabitants. They are situated about a mile north from Fallowden, near a stream which shortly falls into the North Sea; the number of acres is about 1,000, of which above 300 are rich old pasture.
