Gateway to Muncaster Castle


The entrance gateway to Muncaster Castle dates from the 18th centry, with 19th century alteratons. The gateway is located by the A595 road at Muncaster. The car park for castle visitors is opposite the gateway on the A595 (public access through the gateway is generally for pedestrian use only). The entrance gateway and adjacent walls are Grade Ii listed on the National Heritage List for England.
