Gan Canny

Gan Canny is a life-sized, corten steel sculpture by Ray Lonsdale, located in Keel Square, Sunderland. Completed in 2022, the sculpure includes two dray horses pulling a cart laden with crates and barrels of Vaux beer. It also has a drayman on the cart, an assistant feeding a horse. The sculpure celebrates Sunderland's past and is close to the site of the original Vaux Brewery, which operated for 162 years, from 1837, before closing in 1999.
