The Old Chapel, Stamfordham
The Old Chapel is located on North Side (the road along the north edage of the village green) in Stamfordham. Originally a house, the building was converted to a Presbyterian church in 1863. It became a United Reformed Church in 1972, following the merger of the Presbyterian and Congregational churches. By 2005, Stamfordham URC had united with Stamfordham Methodist Church, meeting in the refurbished Methodist premises, now known as 'The Church on the Green'. This former URC church was converted into to a domestic dwelling in 2004. The Old Chapel is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
