Esh Winning Academy

Esh Winning Academy is a primary school, located on The Wynds in Esh Winning. It was formerly a community school known as Esh Winning Primary School, until converting to an academy under Wise Academies in September 2024. The school has about 300 pupils aged 3 to 11. The new building for Esh Winning Primary School opened in April 2012, constructed by McAlpine, as part of the Building Schools for the Future program. The old red brick school building, which was originally opened on 10th January 1933 as Waterhouses County Senior Mixed School and later known as Waterhouses County Secondary Modern School, was demolished after the new building opened. Sir Bobby Robson was a former pupil when it was a secondary school.[1]
