Elishaw, Northumberland
Elishaw is hamlet and farm in Northumberland located near the junction of the A68 and A696 roads. It is located about 2 miles north west of Otterburn and is about 12 miles south east of the border with Scotland. The farm has holiday cottages. Elishaw Bridge here, carries the A68 road over the River Rede. Whellan's directory of 1855 lists Elishaw under Rochester township in the ancient parish of Elsdon, and the farmer at that time as Thomas Davison. Today, Elishaw is part of Rochester with Byrness Civil Parish.
