Electricity in Service Exhibition, Newcastle, 1924

The 'Electricity in Service Exhibition' at Newcastle ran from 3-20 December, 1924. The exhibition centred on the 'The Electric House'. This included electric fires, electric lighting, and new electric domestic appliances such as an electric cooker, kettle, toaster and vacuum  cleaner. The future had arrived! At that time most houses had coal fires and stoves, and many had gas lighting.
