Denton Chare, Newcastle

Denton Chare is a narrow lane which runs from Westgate Road through to St Nicholas' Street in the centre of Newcastle. A medieval street with this name was first documented in 1425, with the chare linking St Nicholas Church with Westgate (road).[1] Anne Fisher ran a school for girls, located at the west end of Denton Chare, from 1745-1750.
