Chopwell War Memorial
The war memorial in Chopwell commemorates the 205 local people who lost their lives in the First World War. It was reported that about 7,000 people attended the ceremony unveiling the monument on the 16th of June 1923.[1] The names of those lost in the Second World War were later inscribed on the monument, and later still a person lost serving during the Korean War (1950-53).
