Cavendish Dock, Barrow-in-Furness
Cavendish Dock in Barrow-in-Furness is a former dock, which now serves as a reservoir. It is by far, the largest of the four docks that make up the Royal Port of Barrow. During the early 20th century, Cavendish Dock was home to an airship construction facility, which included floating sheds, before the works were transferred to nearby Walney Island. There are pillboxes and other wartime defences along the causeway between Cavendish Dock and Roosecote Sands. Mill Beck (Poaka Beck) feeds into the dock.
